A factory established in 1934 in the Haifa industrial zone. In 1941, the factory was purchased by "Solel Boneh" and in 1944 the factory was included in the Histadrut’s "Koor" group. In 2006, the plant’s production lines were closed
The manufacturer produces a variety of covers, most of which are made of metal or concrete covers surrounded by a metal frame (mainly for Israel Post ). The shape of the covers is round , rectangular , elliptical , or square with rounded corners . Round covers intended for sidewalks are usually surrounded by a square frame to facilitate paving work (in fact, almost all square covers made by the manufacturer fall into this category).
This manufacturer does not produce colored covers (the colored ones found are usually painted after production), usually water lids . There are also a small number of gilded lids .
City emblems appear on a significant portion of the covers , sometimes covering almost the entire surface of the cover . The intended purpose of the cover usually appears on the cover , .
Many covers bear the year of their production .
Many covers are made from a standard mold, to which plates are added as needed (name of city, purpose of the cover, etc.) . Sometimes the label area is finished smoothly .
You can still find very old lids from this manufacturer, some dating back to the British Mandate period ,
Standards Most covers bear the standard mark of the Israel Standards Institute . The European standard EN124 and its corresponding load classes appear on almost all covers, with the most common load classes being B125 and C250 . The Israeli Standard 489 (IS 489), specific to covers in areas with vehicular or pedestrian traffic, appears on only one cover .
Typical Covers Two main series are typical of the company’s covers: Moran and Shimshon . The two series are very similar to each other, and typically, covers from the Shimshon series are installed without a square frame (usually on the road). Another type features a very large emblem (usually of the local authority) , , or medium-sized emblems (still quite prominent) . A typical cover by the manufacturer is a round cover with nested concentric circles , or circles composed of squares . Elliptical covers with a handle (water covers) , “fat” elliptical covers , and small water covers bearing the city emblem (similar to those made by other manufacturers) were also found.
You can also find modular lids (lids consisting of several lids), usually with a background of prominent squares and intended for communication devices
