General

The manhole covers in Yehud are usually made of metal or concrete and their shapes are square , round or rectangular .
In many cases, when round covers are intended for sidewalks, they are surrounded by a square frame, which greatly facilitates the paving work around them (these are essentially all the square covers found on the site).

The manhole covers in Yehud are not colorful; some are gold-toned, mainly those manufactured by the producer "Wolfman" .

Covers intended for the Yehud Municipality usually bear the municipal emblem . Many covers are intended for the Mei Ono water corporation, which serves the city .

As in other cities in Israel, a relatively large number of covers intended for other municipalities can be found (the "bug" category) .

The intended use of the cover usually appears on it (sewage , drainage , water etc.), and therefore the number of covers in the "unknown" category is relatively small.

The manufacturing year appears on a significant portion of the covers in Yehud .

In general, the design of the covers in Yehud is not unique and corresponds to the typical designs of each manufacturer.

The municipal status of Yehud as reflected in the covers
Yehud was declared a local council in 1950 and a city in 1995 (note that the two covers are identical, except that one reads "Yehud Local Council" and the other "Yehud Municipality").
In 2003 Yehud was united with the community of Neve Monosson, and this is reflected in the municipal emblem (although the name remains "Yehud Municipality", the emblem includes the words "Yehud Monosson").

Manufacturers
The manufacturer’s name usually appears on the covers. Most covers are produced in Israel by several leading manufacturers: Menashe Baruch , Yetzikat HaMifratz , A. Telitmacher and others.
It is rare to find covers produced in other countries, but they do exist, as can be seen in the list of manufacturers on this page (an example is a cover manufactured by the Italian producer MUFLE ).

Standards
The cover standards include Israeli-specific standards: the Standards Mark of the Standards Institution of Israel , and the IS 489 standard (equivalent to the international EN124 standard) .
In addition, the international EN124 standard and the various load classes (B125 - D400) are used. Additional standards appear mainly on covers not manufactured in Israel.
