The covers in Givatayim are usually made of metal or concrete , but there are also covers made of plastic (composite materials) .
Their shapes are square , circular , elliptical , or rectangular .
When circular covers are intended for sidewalks, they are surrounded by a square frame, which greatly facilitates paving work around them (these are in fact almost all the square covers in the city).

No colored covers were found in Givatayim, the gilded lids that were found were usually made by the manufacturer "Wolfman"

Covers intended for the Givatayim Municipality usually bear the municipal emblem or the inscription "Givatayim Municipality" .
Many covers are intended for the “Mei Giv’atayim” water corporation, which serves the city .

In 2023, a new branding emblem was designed for the city, including the city’s name, the motto “Much more than a city,” and the original municipal emblem in a reduced form. This branding often replaces the original city emblem , (in fact, both the original emblem and the new branding symbol appear on the covers).

As in other Israeli cities, a relatively large number of covers belonging to other municipalities have been found (“bug” category), mainly those intended for Tel Aviv .
Also in the “bug” category are covers belonging to water corporations other than “Mei Givatayim,” such as one belonging to Ganei Tikva’s water corporation “Mei Tikva” .

There are also covers intended for consumers that are not necessarily municipalities or local councils. These covers are not city-specific and can be found throughout Israel – for example, covers for Bezeq , HOT , and others.

The purpose of the cover is usually indicated on it (Water , Sewage , Electricity , etc.), so the number of covers in the “Unknown” category is very small.

A significant number of covers in Giv’atayim bear the year of manufacture .

In general, the design of the covers in Givatayim is not unique and corresponds to typical designs for the manufacturers. However, there are some special covers featuring a very large version of the city’s branding emblem , and similar ones displaying the emblem of the “Mei Giv’atayim” water corporation .
There are also very small water covers found in Giv’atayim (and also in the neighboring city of Ramat Gan) , as well as another type more common in Israel .

Manufacturers
The manufacturer’s name usually appears on the covers. Most covers are produced in Israel by several leading manufacturers - Menashe Baruch , A. Telitmacher , Gelem , Vulcan Foundries , and others (notably, a relatively large number of covers from the Kurdieh Brothers Foundry, which are usually found only in small quantities elsewhere in Israel or in the occupied territories ).

Standards
The cover standards include those unique to Israel (the Standards Institution of Israel mark and Israeli Standard IS 489, equivalent to international standard EN124 ).
Additionally, international standard EN124 and the various load classes (A50 - D400) are also in use.
