Sometimes the manufacturer’s logo appears , but more often the abbreviation WN is shown, and occasionally Purator (a trade name used by the manufacturer) .

No colored or gilded covers by this manufacturer were found, nor do city emblems appear on the covers.

On many covers, the function is not indicated. When it does appear, drainage covers are identified by drainage slots , water covers by the letter W , gas covers by the word GAS , and so on.

The year of manufacture is often shown on the covers .

Standards
The European standard EN124 and its associated load classes appear on many covers, with the most common being D400 and E600 .
Many covers also display the Austrian standard ÖNORM , the Austrian ÜA-Marking certification , and B5110, the Austrian equivalent of EN124 .
Some covers also bear the German standard DIN 1229 .

Typical Covers
As mentioned, many covers feature the name PURATOR with a background of raised, rounded-corner squares . Another common type has a background matrix of squares, usually with a circle containing the manufacturer’s name (WN) .
Many rectangular water covers feature a design of concentric circles (some truncated due to the rectangular shape) .
