The covers, which look like "Siamese twins," are connected at their center and resemble another pair of covers made by the same manufacturer .

Bossnettet is a waste collection system consisting of underground pipes. Residents dispose of their waste at collection points located throughout the city, from where it is pneumatically transported through the pipe system.

The system is operated by BIR AS (Bergensområdets Interkommunale Renovasjonsselskap) - an intermunicipal waste management company serving the Bergen area.
