The factory, which was on Lancaster Road in the Notting Hill area of London, was founded by Jas Bartle in 1854. It was engaged in iron casting, among other things, caps, light poles and railings. At the height of its activity, the factory had about 60 employees and about 10 apprentices. The factory was sold in 1910 to C S Windsor, and in 1927 it was closed.
