Did you know that the diagonal stripe that divides the council emblem into two (originally black) symbolizes the old road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem? While the seven stars in the symbol do not symbolize the stars proposed by Herzl (as they
appear in the symbol of the city of Ramat Gan), but rather the seven fighters who fell in the breakthrough to Jerusalem during the War of Independence.
