The cover bears the inscription: "P.G. RIEBER & SON, AGENTS, ST. PANCRAS ROAD, LONDON". While Rieber & Søn is a well-known, long-standing Norwegian conglomerate based in Bergen, the word AGENTS embossed on the iron clearly indicates that the company did not manufacture the cover, but rather acted as its local distributor and importer in Norway.

The actual manufacturer of this piece is the renowned London foundry St. Pancras Ironworks, which was located at the exact address specified on the cover (St. Pancras Road). . The lid is very similar to another lid also made by St. Pancras Ironworks and marketed by Rieber & Søn, with a slightly different frame
