Van Schencel werd bekend met de romans "Een zwerver verliefd" en "Een zwerver verdwaald’.

This bust of the writer Arthur van Schendel (1874 - 1946) was made by the sculptor and draftsman J.G. Wertheim. In 1960 he founded Public Art Property with which he wanted to familiarize a wide audience with visual art.

Van Schendel became known with the novels "A Wanderer in Love" and "A Lost Wanderer".
