Translation of the text on the sign:
’t Zaat Hermenieke
Design: Han van Wetering, 1993

"De Zaate Herremenie" was in 1959
the first unorganized Carnival orchestra,
without a conductor, but always with
"D’n Drappo" at the front.

In 1972, all of Maastricht sang the
Carnival song:
"The drunken orchestra keeps going on, even when it can barely go on anymore!"

The plaque was installed in 2008 by:
Bart Groutars
and
Pauline von Pelser Berensberg
