Note that the lid bears the names of two manufacturers (Andrew Vassallo and İstikamet Döküm). It is likely that the lid originally belonged to the Turkish manufacturer (İstikamet Döküm) who collaborated with the Maltese manufacturer.

Andrew Vassallo was chosen as the lid manufacturer, if only because of his large logo that appears in the center of the lid.
