Photographer’s note: Hansaplatz "Place of the Hanse" is a place in Dortmund where currently the weekly market is held. It’s name pays tribute to the Hanse, a medieval union of free cities in the region aiming for free trade and safe trading routes. Safe trading routes includes fighting pirates which is symbolised in the Hansekogge, a fleet if medieval armed sailing ships which were commanded not by any king but the cities of the Hanse.
