Manhole Covers Site

General

The manhole covers in Makrinitsa are made of metal and are square , rectangular , or round in shape.

No colored or gilded covers were found in Makrinitsa, nor were any covers bearing the city’s emblem.

In most cases, it is not known which consumers the covers are intended for, and it is therefore generally not possible to determine the purpose of the cover.

In most cases, the covers are not particularly distinctive and are similar to other covers found in Greece.

Manufacturers
Some of the covers were made by the Greek manufacturers Delta Zita or the British manufacturer NIF UK .

Standards
The European standard EN124 and its associated load classes (A15-B125) often appear on the covers. Other international standards were also found.
