The colored covers in the UAE are ones that were painted after manufacture . No gold-colored covers were found.

Covers in the UAE typically do not bear municipal emblems.

Water covers usually include the word "WATER" in English and in Arabic (ميـﺎه) .
Telecom covers include the words "OPTIC FIBER" or the name of the telecom company.
Sewer covers bear the word "SEWER" in English and in Arabic (مجاري) .

Manufacturers
The covers are produced by the local manufacturer Ducast (whose covers resemble those of manufacturers from the UK) and MBBM , as well as by British manufacturers such as Brickhouse Dudley , Stanton , and others.

Standards
The international standard EN124 and load classes D400 or B125 are common among local manufacturers as well .
Since many covers are made by manufacturers from the UK or by companies affiliated with Britain, the British Kitemark standard is very common , as is the British standard BS497 .
