Due to the small number of manhole covers from Bulgaria featured on the site, it is quite difficult to characterize them. Based on the covers currently available:

The manhole covers in Bulgaria are made of metal or concrete and are either circular or rectangular in shape.

No colored or gilded (gold-painted) covers were found in Bulgaria.

City emblems do not appear on the Bulgarian covers featured on the site.

The function of the cover is usually indicated by the text displayed on it:
Т.Т.КАБЕЛИ (Telephone and Telegraph Cables) on a telecommunications cover ,
ВиК (Water Supply Company) .

Manufacturers
The covers are produced by local manufacturers such as Cast Iron Works Ihtiman and Talveg ,
or by international manufacturers like the German ACO Group .

Standards
The European standard EN124 and its corresponding load ratings (D400, B125, etc.) can be found ,
as well as the Bulgarian standard BDS (БДС) .
On a cover produced by a German manufacturer, the German MPA standard appears .
